מנהרת הזמן 55. בכל ספר דן ושרון מסיירים בתקופה שונה, לשם לוקחת אותם המנהרה. הפעם: אסון מעלות. דן ושרון רוצים להציל את הילדים ממעלות.
שרון התקשרה אלי בטלפון מהעבר. כן, כן, מהעבר. הפתעה כזאת מנהרת הזמן עוד לא עשתה לנו. "תבוא מהר", שרון האיצה בי. וככה, עדין עם ה´קרוקס´ הכתומות, הייתי בדרכי למעלות. ידענו שזה יסתיים באסון. שרון אפילו ידעה מי מהתלמידים שנפגשנו איתם ודיברנו איתם יהרגו. ידענו גם שאי אפשר לשנות את מה שהיה. ובכל זאת כל כך רצינו להציל אותם. ראינו את המורים והמלווים בורחים. ראינו את מעשי הגבורה של חלק מהנערים, ולא יכולנו לשמוח איתם כששמענו את החדשות ברדיו, אנחנו ידענו מה יהיו התוצאות.
